Contemporary Cuisine

Customers can count on regional, national, and international flavors reinvented by the KOI team for a contemporary cuisine experience, with the appreciation of local products, many of them with the Azores Brand quality seal. The menu features a varied choice of ingredients, offering options from meats to vegetarian dishes, not forgetting the desserts that provide the perfect final, such as the Semifreddo Chocolate. One of the dishes that will delight guests and locals is the Tuna Tataki, with an oriental touch, for a good start, or the Portobello Risotto, for lovers of vegetarian cuisine. Of particular note are the fish from our coast and the Royal Beef, a meat dish of excellence. In addition, there are also other more well-known typical dishes, such as Regional Style Steak, Portuguese Style Codfish, or Octopus.

Inspiration

In the lake of our Zen Garden inhabit the same carp that can be found in the beautiful lagoons of our island. Carps are fascinated by their beauty and ability to adapt to different environments. This fish is adored by several oriental cultures, for the symbolism attributed to its characteristics of resistance, courage and longevity. The enchantment for carps and their good luck led the Japanese to create Koi (ornamental carp of different colors) by genetic mutation of the common carp, to inhabit the ponds of their gardens. The name and decoration of the KOI Restaurant are in line with the Japanese inspiration of the Zen garden which frames it while delighting those who enjoy a good-tasting experience, supported by the symbolism of the KOI carp, which represents essential values for us such as adaptability, beauty and perseverance.
